SHILLONG: The KHADC CEM Teinwell Dkhar and Synjuk ki Rangbah Kur observed that the Khasi Clan Bill which was passed by the council last year, should be keenly followed up.
Dkhar said the Bill has been returned to the KHADC. Meanwhile, the Synjuk ki Rangbah Kur general secretary, Aristotle Lyngdoh Nongpyiur said the Synjuk will sit for a discussion on how to make suggestions to the KHADC pertaining to the Bill.
Stating that there are 5000 clans in the Khasi community, he said there is a need to strengthen the clans and the Synjuk will give necessary suggestions regarding the Khasi Clan Bill. “We were informed that the Governor has returned the Bill to the KHADC to examine it. The council should ensure that the Bill becomes a legislation,” he said.
