Farmers’ body launches ‘Nongrep’ app

SHILLONG: The Hill Farmers Union has launched an app, Nongrep to empower the famers in the state.
Launching the app on Saturday in the city, Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh said the farmers will get firsthand knowledge about the farming activities trough the app.
Hyderabad based Impetus Solutions has developed the app.
Vajjha Sriram Rahi, director of Impetus Solutions, said more training will be carried out to help the farmers to use the app.
“We are looking at the registration of farmers first and the app will be more friendly to them after the training”, he said.
More features will be added once the farmers start using the app.
President of the Union, Commander Shangpliang said it is for the first time that the farmers will be using an app to understand the farming practices and the technologies.
