SHILLONG: The Horticulture Office of East Garo Hills, on Friday celebrated World Honey Bee Day during a programme held at the DRDA Hall-II of the District Headquarters in Williamnagar.
The programme centered on the theme ‘Save the Bees’ and was graced by the presence of the Director of Horticulture, L Laloo along with East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe.
A technical session on the ‘role of the honeybee in agriculture and horticulture’ including techniques of bee keeping was held in the second half of the programme which was attended by a number of bee keepers and local farmers.
