Mobile cancer screening camp

SHILLONG: A mobile cancer screening bus was set up by Marwari Yuva Manch, Shillong inside the State Central Library parking lot in the city on Saturday.
The bus was equipped with instruments that could scan for three different cancers.
The event was inaugurated by Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek who lauded Marwari Yuva Manch for taking up the initiative.
Around 126 people availed the free tests on the first day on Friday while 149 people were checked on the second day.
No cancer cases have been detected so far. However the test results will be sent to MYM Hospital in New Delhi to be re-screened and the final reports will come in after seven days if abnormalities are detected in any of the reports.
