Elephants being fed at the Elephant Rehabilitation Centre in Kottoor, near Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. The Rehabilitation Centre is India’s first elephant rehabilitation centre. The centre, aimed at providing protection to abandoned, orphaned, injured and older elephants, is expected to have an elephant museum, mahout training center, super-specialty hospital, a retirement home and crematorium for the animals.
