NONGSTOIN: Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat has urged the Minister of Urban Affairs Department Hamlet Dohling to promote Nongstoin market as it is the oldest market in the state.
The minister, who is also the Chairman of Meghalaya State Law Commission, said that Nongstoin market is left without proper development since time immemorial.
He also said that being located in the heart of the town and the district headquarters, the market is under developed in all aspects as there are deficiencies in drainage system, footpaths, streetlights and others.
While asserting that cleanliness and safety in the market is necessary, he urged Dohling to take up the matter with concerned authority for the implementation of better infrastructure in the market.
