Govt asks GVK EMRI to settle issues with staff

SHILLONG: The state government has asked the GVK EMRI management to resolve the issues with the Meghalaya GVK-EMRI Workers Union.
Sources from the union said the state government has asked the GVK EMRI management to maintain status quo.
The source said that while maintaining status quo, the management cannot transfer or send their staff to attend any training programme.
However, the management flouted the status quo and instead directed the staff to go for six-month training. Besides salaries were also being deducted.
The union maintained that the GVK EMRI should at least address the demands of the union.
A meeting was held attended by the GVK EMRI Union, officials from health and law department.
