Award
The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Dimapur invites application for Young Talent Artistes Award for the year 2018-19 from outstanding candidates, talented/skilled in the categories of folk & tribal music/songs and dance theatre, dance drama, mime, painting, wood/cane & bamboo crafts, traditional handloom and handicrafts, pottery etc. The artistes in the age group of 18 to 30 years (as on March 31, 2020) are eligible to apply for the award. The Award consists of Rs. 10,000, a citation and a memento. Artistes may collect the form from the office of the Director of Arts & Culture, Government of Meghalaya, Shillong on August 31.
Cremation
The executive Committee of Gorkha Samshan Ghat Barapathar (Mawbah) Shillong, has fixed the price of wood for cremation at Rs 3000 per corpse at its Ghat with effect from Monday, until further notice. Wood for cremation is now available at Ghat. Contact: 8414078432.
Quiz
Keith T. Nongsteng and Moin Uddin Ahmed, both 1st Semester LLB students of the Shillong Law College, won 1st prize in the quiz competition organised by the Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Shillong as part of the 45th Cultural Competition. The Quiz was held last Sunday.
