Panel meets on NCC activities

SHILLONG: The State Advisory Committee (SAC) on National Cadet Corps (NCC) was convened under the chairmanship of Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui in the city on Tuesday.
The SAC focussed on providing necessary impetus and guidance to the NCC.
Many aspects, including formation of additional NCC units, establishment of NCC academy, enhancement of financial powers and optimisation of manpower, were discussed.
Rymbui assured that the State Government is ready to provide all possible assistance to NCC.
Major General Bipin Bakshi, ADG NCC Dte North Eastern Region along with senior officers of NCC, representatives of Education & Finance Department and Principals of Prominent Institutes from the state were present on the occasion.
The last SAC meet was held in January 2016.
