SHILLONG/tura: Students of IIM Shillong organised a ‘Fitness walk’ on Thursday morning on the occasion of National Sports Day. The institute also witnessed the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the nation-wide ‘Fit India Movement’ launch. The screening was attended by the Director, Prof. DP Goyal, faculty members, supporting staff and students.
10,000 steps walk by EFLU
The English and Foreign Languages (EFL) University, Shillong Campus also observed the Fit India Movement at its campus on Thursday. The celebration was flagged off with the screening of the live broadcast of nationwide movement.
A ‘10,000 steps’ walk inside NEHU was led by Director In-Charge, Prof T K Bamon.
With the slogan ‘When body is fit, mind is hit’, the celebration started off with the ‘fitness pledge’ taken by all students, faculty members and the non-teaching staff.
Don Bosco College Tura organises run
The NSS Unit of Don Bosco College, Tura joined the Fit India Movement campaign.
Altogether 73 NSS volunteers, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college witnessed the live telecast and pledged to keep oneself fit. It was followed by a run from the college up to Sampalgre LP School and back to highlight the launch of Fit India Movement for a happy and healthier nation.
