Dohling order to check entry

SHILLONG: Urban Affairs Minister Hamlet Dohling on Sunday spoke to SPs and DCs of Ri Bhoi and East Jaintia Hills and asked them to ensure that nobody enters the state without valid documents.
Dohling spoke to the top officials of both the districts following the exclusion of 19 lakh people from the final list of NRC which was published in Assam on Saturday.
“We are monitoring the situation and we have asked SPs and DCs to take care,” Dohling said.
Both East Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi share inter-state boundary with Assam and both have infiltration check gates.
Dohling also said that more forces have been sent to both the check gates to ensure no one enters the state without valid documents.
