BJP moves JHADC for MDCs’ recognition

SHILLONG: BJP leaders have written to the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to give due recognition to the BJP MDCs and reorganisation of seats of the four MDCs.
The letter was signed by state president of BJP, Shibun Lyngdoh, CLP leader AL Hek, State in charge Nalin Kohli and MLA Sanbor Shullai.
The four MDCs who joined the BJP on Saturday are Lakhon Biam, Krison Langstang, Dawan Lyngdoh and J. Treilang Suchiang.
The leaders stated that the MDCs will support the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the JHADC.
The BJP leaders have urged the CEM of JHADC to retain the present posts held by the four MDCs – Biam as the chairman of JHADC, Langstang as the chairman of Rules Advisory Committee, Lyngdoh is the chairman of Elaka Boundary Committee and Suchiang is the chairman of Environment Committee in JHADC.
It may be mentioned that UDP working president Bindo Lanong threatened to remove one of the rebel MDCs, Lakhon Biam as Chairman of the JHADC. Lanong said that Biam will be removed for which a special session will be held.
Meanwhile, in Guwahati, Shullai will apprise the BJP national leaders, Amit Shah and NEDA chairman, Himanta Biswa Sharma on the political development in the JHADC.
