Carnival
The Alumni Association of St. Mary’s College Shillong is organising a Carnival of food, games, dance and music on September 13 in the college campus  from 10 am to 4pm.  All past pupils are invited to come for the carnival. Students from other schools and colleges are also welcome.

Holiday
The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi informed that all state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts, educational institutions within Ri Bhoi will remain closed on September 18 on account of  Unitarian Anniversary Day.

Debate
The Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban will organise its annual Dr MM Das Memorial debate competition on September 14 at 2:30 pm in the club premises (near St John’s Church, Laban). All the higher secondary schools and colleges are invited to participate. The motion of the debate is ‘Reasonable restrictions should be imposed on the mainstream media.’ The interested institutes may send their teams comprising of two students, one for the motion and the other against the motion.

Gratitude
The Barapathar Muharram Akhara Committee, Mawbah, Shillong convey its gratitude to East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, participants, security arrangement, Superintendent of Police, in-charge, Lumdiengjri Traffic Branch and Jhalupura Police Out Post in-charge Lumdiengri Police Station, Rangbah Shnong Mawbah and local MLA Mohendro Rapsang during the Muharram Procession Day.

Meeting
The Dorbar Shnong of Nongsohphoh, Upper Mawprem will hold a meeting on September 14 at Dorbar Hall at 10 am to discuss various issues pertaining to the locality. All house owners which falls under the jurisdiction of Dorbar Shnong, Nongsohphoh are requested to attend the meeting.
