Five hurt in Ri Bhoi road mishap

Nongpoh: Five individuals were injured when a Maruti 800 (ML05-8007) dashed against a Tata Tiago at a turning along the Umsning Bypass of National Highway-6 in Umtrew village, Ri Bhoi on Sunday.
Sources attributed the accident to careless driving on the part of the driver of the Maruti 800.
Police arrived at the spot shortly after the accident and discovered that the driver of the Maruti 800 had fled the scene.
However, the driver of the Tata Tiago has been identified as Constantine Kharbihkhiew.
The injured were immediately rushed to Umsning CHC for medical treatment out of which two were referred to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong for better treatment.
