IRS training for officers

TURA: A three-day training programme on Incidence Response System (IRS) for officers of South Garo Hills, organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Baghmara, was inaugurated at the DRDA Conference Hall on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner HB Marak who is also the Chairman of DDMA was present as the chief resource person along with P Ch Marak, district disaster management officer.
In his address to the gathering, HB Marak spoke about the roles and responsibilities of the line departments during times of emergency and said that the formation of the IRS in the district is very important.
While speaking about the roles and responsibilities of information and media, Marak said that the right kind of information should a;ways be passed on to the people.
Earlier, P Ch Marak gave an introduction on the IRS and on Incidence Event Planning.
A mock exercise on disaster management will also be held on the last day of the programme.
