Agartala: Police is clueless for a week about the prime accused of torturing to death a class IX student in the hostel of a private convent school at Kumarghat in Unokoti district of North Tripura on October 6.
Both the opposition Congress and CPI (M) have staged a demonstration in front of Kumarghat police station demanding immediate arrest of the accused hostel warden on Saturday while tribal student bodies met Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kr Jamatia seeking action against the accused hostel warden.
The parents of victim accused police of not taking action to arrest the accused following pressure from an influential quarter.
However, OC of Kumarghat police station Pradyot Dutta said autopsy of deceased was completed at GBP Hospital in Agartala and a team police had gone to collect the reports. (UNI)
