Seminar on cultural and linguistic studies in city

SHILLONG: A two-day national seminar on ‘Cultural and Linguistic Studies in North East India: Prospects and Challenges’ organised by the Languages Departments of Sankardev College, Shillong was inaugurated on Wednesday PBO Warjri, Chief Information Commissioner of the Meghalaya State Information Commission.
Desmond L Kharmawphlang from the Department of Creative and Cultural Studies, NEHU, Shillong delivered the keynote address.
The seminar is being attended by scholars and researchers from IIT Guwahati, Tezpur University, Guwahati University, Dibrugarh University, Assam University, The English and Foreign Languages University, NEHU, IGNOU, USTM, K K Handique State Open University, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University and other educational institutions from Assam and Meghalaya.
Eureka FP Lyngdoh, principal, delivered the welcome address while Manbor S Warjri, IQAC coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. The seminar is sponsored by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkatta along with Sankardev College, Shillong.
