SHILLONG: The Mawkyrwat Electricity Consumers Forum (MECF) has served two months’ deadline to the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MePDCL) to take charge of the Mawkyrwat Sub-Division (Distribution & Revenue) again. The residents are not happy with Feedback Energy Distribution Co. Ltd. (FEDCO) as the company often commits error while issuing the electricity bill.
FEDCO has supplied electricity in Mawkyrwat since April 1 and the residents are not aware of it, chairman of MECF Wanlambok Syiemiong said.
The agreement between the company and the state government was signed on March 18, 2019, he added.
A public hearing was held on April 25 in which the people resented handing over the power supply to FEDCO.
