SHILLONG: The Minor Minerals Owners and Workers Association has petitioned the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Harsh Vardhan, to address the grievances of Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) employees.
In a letter to the minister, the association pointed at the stand-off between the management and the workers due to which the 108 emergency services in the state have come to a halt.
The association said that the management and the state government have not been able to resolve the issue and sought the minister’s intervention. The union minister was also apprised of the hospitalization of 12 agitating union members who were on hunger strike.
