Call to claim 16 destitutes from city
SHILLONG: The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills has informed that Shanti Bhavan, Missionaries of Charity, Shillong submitted a list of 16 destitute persons presently lodged at the institute. The destitute persons include those who were found abandoned from different parts of the city. The statement was issued for the information of their relatives so that the destitute persons can be taken back by them. Police said the relatives can contact the in-charge, Shanti Bhavan, Missionaries of Charity, Shillong or Officer-in-Charge, Shillong sadar police station. Blood donation, free health camp
SHILLONG: The NSS Unit of St. Dominic’s College, Dum Dum, Nongthymmai organised an awareness programme and voluntary blood donation camp on Monday, in collaboration with the Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute. Also, a free medical health camp was also held in collaboration with the District Medical and Health Office (DMHO). The medical camp was conducted under the supervision of B. Warjri, MO in-charge of Nongthymmai UPHC and B Syiem, SM&HO, in-charge of Rynjah SD along with the paramedical staff. Several students, staff as well as the residents of the locality availed the facility of the free health check-up and medicines.
FKJGP constitutes college cell in Tura
SHILLONG: The FKJGP Garo Hills Zone, Tura approved the FKJGP Tura Government College Cell in a meeting held at Tura Government College with the students to discuss various issues pertaining to the student community. A student from the college requested the need for FKJGP Cell in the campus to work for the betterment of the student. The chairman of the newly-constituted cell is Rohit Marak besides Tengsmart Sangma was elected as the Vice Chairman and 20 other class coordinators.
