Cooperative week held

NONGSTOIN/JOWAI: Along with the rest of the country, Nongstoin on Friday celebrated the 66All India Cooperative Week with the theme ‘Rules of Cooperative in New India’ and the topic of the day was ‘Enabling Legislation for Cooperative’ at the LBI Centre.
The event jointly organised by ARCS, Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, Nongstoin Branch aims at encouraging the general public to form cooperative societies in their respective localities to help the people economically and financially.
Deputy Commissioner, T Lyngwa, who was the chief guest, lauded
the organisers and called upon the people to set up cooperative societies in every village to generate income and support their livelihood.
Jowai event on Monday
The office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, West Jaintia Hills in collaboration with the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Banks Limited will celebrate the 66th All India Cooperative Week at Lions Club complex, Mission Compound, Jowai on Monday from 11am.
The theme for the week long celebration is “ Role of cooperatives in new India today and new initiatives of government through cooperatives”.
