Programme
A cultural programme followed by an award ceremony, on the occasion of NCC Day, will be organised by the NCC Dte, Northeastern region at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Shillong on Thursday. Governor Tathagata Roy will be the chief guest for the programme.

General meeting
The annual general meeting of Hynniewtrep Youth Movement (HYM) central body was held at Lachumiere on Friday last. In the meeting the HYM elected Richard Syiemiong as president, S Samuel Thaba as working president, Anthony Kharanior as general secretary, Jeremiah Lyngdoh as assistant general secretary, W Syiemsad as finance secretary among other executive members.

Annual day
Army Public School, Umroi Military Station celebrated its Annual Day Function on Wednesday. The theme of the programme was titled ‘little hearts with big dreams’. Shikha Mehra, Chairperson of Family Welfare Organisation, 21 Mountain Division, was the chief guest on the occasion. Triveni Sharma was given an award for a special contribution towards the institution during the event.

Muga mela
The Muga Silkworm Seed Organisation (MSSO), Central Silk Board, Ministry of textiles, Government of India, will organise the “Muga Vanya Krishi Vigya Mela, 2019” at P-4 Unit Mendipathar, North Garo Hills on December 6. As many as 250 Muga farmers among others will participate in the event.

Debate
A debate competition on ‘India still needs continuation of reservation policy’ will be organised on Thursday at the conference hall of Department of Law, NEHU, organised by the legal care and support centre of the department with Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority as part of Nani Palkhivala birth centenary celebrations.
