Body recovered
Police on Friday recovered the body of one unknown person from a stream near Reserve Bank of India near Dhankheti. Police said that the body, which has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue, seems to be of an alcoholic, adding that and no injuries were found on the body.

House burnt
A thatched house inside the Bio Resources Development Centre farm at 6th mile was burnt in a fire on Saturday evening, police said, adding that nobody resides there and it was being used as a storeroom to store polythenes.

Traffic rules violation
East Khasi Hills Police, while conducting vehicle checking near a bridge at Lapalang Junction, detained one local taxi (ML-05H-4513) driven by Fredyson Jana for violation of ‘No Entry’ rules. During verification of the vehicle, it was found to a private vehicle registered under the name of Lamborson Jana of Mawlai Nonglum and was being used as local taxi without valid documents.
