SBI sponsors underprivileged students for awards programme

SHILLONG: The State Bank of India has sponsored 10 students from the economically weaker sections for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, organised by Orchid City Rotary, Shillong, which will be held at Christ School International, Nongsder, Umiam from December 12 till 14.
The awards programme, thematised on ‘Act to Impact’, is organised for boys and girls between the age group of 13 to 18 years.
The programme will enable the youths to develop leadership and personal skills and make them confident in speaking to group of people, seniors or peers by learning from and interacting with various leaders of the community.
Various activity-based learning sessions and cultural events have been arranged to make the three-day residential programme exciting as well as educational and helpful for the participants.
Resource persons from Kerala, Tezpur and Assam will, alongside the community leaders, participate in the programme.
De Debashish Das, distrcit governor of Rotary district 3240, will be the chief guest.
The price for each participant is Rs 3,500 which includes lodging, food, etc.
