SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister and BJP MLA AL Hek on Tuesday shot off a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah urging him to exempt the entire state from the purview of the contentious CAB.
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Hek said,” Our first priority is our people and our state.”
Recalling that the MDA was the first government to oppose the Bill, he added that the Centre must fully exempt Meghalaya from the Bill.
“They said Sixth Schedule areas will be exempted from the Bill but in Meghalaya, we hardly have 3 percent area which is not scheduled area and what is the harm if they fully exempt the entire state,” he said.
