Vehicle set ablaze

Nongpoh: As the protest against the CAB is gaining momentum in the state, one vehicle was reduced to ashes after it was set ablaze by miscreants in Nongpoh, on Thursday night.
The police and the fire tenders doused the fire; however the vehicle was completely damaged.
The usually busy National Highway also witnessed total shutdown during the night as only few vehicles is seen plying on the road.
The police have also intensified patrolling along the highways in the district to prevent any untoward incident due to the burning issue of CAB.
Burning of tyres, pelting of stones on vehicles in several parts of the district were also reported.
However, the situation is normal during day.
