Internet shutdown continues, 13-hr curfew relaxation

SHILLONG: Internet services in the state will remain suspended for another 48 hours, the government announced on Monday.
Additional Secretary, Home (Police), CVD Diengdoh, however, informed that five SMSes per person per day is being allowed with OTP messages for banking transactions have been exempted from the restriction.
The government has suspended mobile internet, data and SMS of all service providers in the state since last Thursday in view of the breakdown of law and order in the state.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, issued an order under Section 144 CrPC relaxing curfew in all the restricted areas notified under Lumdiengjri police station and Sadar police station and their respective outposts and beat houses for 13 hours from 6 AM to 7 PM on Tuesday.
