Meritorious students of Wahsiej felicitated

MAWKYRWAT: The Seng Samla Shnong Wahsiej, South West Khasi Hills, felicitated the meritorious students of Wahsiej village with the Excellence Award, 2018 for bringing laurels to the village by doing well in different exams in 2019.
The students who were presented with the award included Remeki Marwein (1st Division in HSSLC Examination), Maiandashisha Wanniang (1st Division in B.Sc), Lamjingshai Thongni (1st Class in B.Th, from Nichols Roy Bible College, Sohryngkham) and Kansaralin Marwein (1st Class in M.Com, from ICFAI University).
The Seng Samla Shnong Wahsiej also organised a penalty shootout at Thangriang playgroud in which the youths, including boys and girls, participated. As many as 20 teams in the boy’s category and 10 teams in the girl’s category locked horns in which Arjait and Orkut Combine emerged victorious in boys and girls categories, respectively.
Speaking as the chief guest at the award and prize distribution ceremony, Karnatik Lyngdoh Tongkhar, a well-known social worker in Mawkyrwat area, inspired the youths of the village to work harder so that they can achieve their aim in life. He also encouraged the talented youths of the village to train themselves, as sports has emerged as one of the sector that can help youths earn a living.
