Meghalaya geared up for R-Day celebrations

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government has made elaborative security arrangement in view of the Republic Day celebrations with several programmes on Sunday.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will unfurl the tri-colour at Polo Second Ground.

The cabinet ministers will do the same at their assigned district headquarters of the state respectively.

Talking about preparedness, Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said that the State government had already instructed the forces to be alert and to ensure that the celebration goes off peacefully.

As per City police, they have made fool proof security arrangements to ensure Republic Day is celebrated peacefully.

The Police have already asked people to come out in large numbers and participate in the celebrations.

The district police are also coordinating with the BSF to ensure proper vigil in the border areas.
