Twitterti laud ITBP jawans for celebrating R-Day at 17,000 ft

NEW DELHI: Twitterati on Sunday heaped praises on Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel after a video clip shared on social media showed the soldiers braving knee-deep snow at 17,000 feet in Ladakh, to unfurl the national flag on 71st Republic Day.

The current temperature in Ladakh is around minus 20 degrees Celsius.

In the 1 minute 57 second-video, the ITBP’s ‘Himveers’ can be seen chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

Soon after the video went viral, Twitter was humming with praise and love for the ITBP personnel.

An user, @Kunika35424424, wrote: “Salute to these guys. “The Real Hero Of Our Country” #RepublicDay2020.”

Another user, Ravinder Bisht @Bisht27Ravi, said: “@ITBP_official so proud of you all…Thanks for being there…JaiHind.”

A third Tweeple, @RambhiaKunal, remarked: “Speechless contribution ! I owe big to you my heroes ! On this auspicious day, I promise myself to do something big for you guys sometime in my life!”
