SHILLONG: For the first time, Shillong will host parallel edition of the 21st Bharat Rang Mahotsav International Theatre Festival, which will be held for 7 days from February 4.
The festival, organised by National School of Drama in collaboration with the Arts and Culture department in Shillong, is also being hosted in Delhi, Dehradun, Nagpur and Puducherry.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Abhilash Pillai, dean, Academic of NSD, said that the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma will inaugurate the festival at U Soso Tham auditorium.
He added that the festival will host four Indian and three foreign plays. Among Indian plays, two plays would be in Bengali and one each in Assamese and Hindi, whereas performances from the USA and Nepal would be in English and one in Russian. Pillai said that before the start of the plays, there will be a performance by local artists as well.
