CM inaugurates Siju Tourist Lodge

TURA: Chief minister Conrad K Sangma, on Wednesday, inaugurated the Siju Tourist Lodge and laid foundation for Swadesh Darshan Project at Simsang Beach in Siju in the presence of Marcuise Marak, government Chief Whip, Rakkam A Sangma, Local MLA and Cyril Diengdoh, Director of Tourism.
While lauding the former chief minister, Mukul Sangma, for sanctioning the building project of the new tourist lodge, Conrad said Rs two crore 50 lakh has been sanctioned for Adventure Park at Siju, Rs75 lakh for bird-watch tower, Rs 65 lakh for for Siju cave Interpretation Centre, Rs 1 crore 75 lakh for boat ride inside Siju cave, two crore 19 lakh for approach road and Rs 50 lakh to install solar light in and around Siju cave.
Informing on the foundation stone of Nongal-Darang Boldak PMGSY road, he said that around 25 crore has been sanctioned and the road will be connected to 11 to 12 villages for the benefit of the people.
Besides, for the development of tourism, Conrad said that around Rs 84 crore has been sanctioned out of which, Rs two crore has been given to Katabill beautification, Rs five crore for Nokrek Darebok area, and around Rs nine crore 10 lakh is sanctioned to Siju for being the area having huge potential for tourism.
