Civil Hospital carries out mock drill for COVID-19

SHILLONG: The Shillong Civil Hospital took initiative to conduct a mock drill to deal with COVID-19.
The drill provided an opportunity for the staff from 4th grade to nurses and doctors to familiarise with the drill.
The joint director and senior superintendent of Civil Hospital SS Nongbri said that the intention is to be prepared to provide necessary assistance to the people.
A separate OPD was set up at the building meant for cancer wing so that there is separation from other patients. Observation wards and isolations wards were also set up at the cancer wing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Normal testing will be done on patients and they will be asked to stay at home for 14 days.
Patients will be kept in observation wards if the temperature is high and the samples of test will be sent to NEIGRIHMS.
It the patients are tested positive, they will be kept in isolation ward.
Currently, there are five beds in the isolation ward of Civil Hospital.
