Govt forms medical panel

Shillong: The state government has set up State Level Medical Expert Committee with immediate effect. This was informed by the Chief Secretary to the state government in a statement on Saturday.
The committee has been set up in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, which will seek medical advice and guidance for handling COVID-19-related cases.
“The committee will provide  advice  and  guidance to the government and other medical   practitioners working in various  hospitals  in  handling and treatment  of COVID-19-infected patients and  to examine and assess  various  lines of treatment  used and recommended by the affected  States  and countries,” a government statement said.
”Besides reviewing various  journals and publications regarding the clinical  management of COVID -19  patients to recommend key insights  to the state government, the committee  will also  advise   the  government  on  any  other   matter   related   to COVID  -19,” the statement added.
