Family members of Assam’s Tablighi Jamaat members quarantined

GUWAHATI: Assam government has brought family members of Tablighi Jamaat members from the state, who had attended the congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in New Delhi last month, to the quarantine facility at Sarusojai Sports Complex in Guwahati on Thursday.

State’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the quarantine facility where the family members of Tablighi Jamaat members were brought there to assure them of security, protection and care.

“Family members of attendees of #TablighiJamaat congregation at #NizamuddinMarkaz need to be urgently quarantined. We brought them to Sarusojai Sports Complex and I was personally present to ward off any fear among them. To fight #COVID19Pandemic important to quarantine them,” Dr Sarma tweeted.
