Bank staff donate day’s salary to CM’s relief fund

SHILLONG: The employees of Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank donated one-day salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, a statement issued here on Wednesday said.
A cheque amounting Rs 20 lakh was handed over by the chairman of the bank to the chief minister on Wednesday in the presence of the Commissioner & Secretary (Finance & Cooperation), managing director and general manager of the bank, as contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to tackle the pandemic, the statement said.
The amount included the bank employees’ one-day salary while the rest of the contribution was made by the bank. The general manager of National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development was also present.
Meanwhile, the Shillong Dhadich Samaj, a branch of Brahmin Samaj, contributed Rs 1 lakh towards the relief fund on Wednesday.
