Warsaw: Bayern Munich attacker Robert Lewandowski, who has caught an leg injury in the Champions League clash against Chelsea FC, confirmed that he is ready to play as he has already returned to the training pitch.
In February, the sniper of the German champions fractured his tibia at Stamford Bridge and he was ruled out for a month. The break turned out to be longer as Bundesliga competition and the team activities on the training pitch were suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On Thursday, Lewandowski informed the Polish media that he is ready to play.
“I missed just a few matches. Everything is okay. I have been ready for training for ten days. Unfortunately we had to stay home longer. I started with the team anyway. I was prepared for the match against Borussia Dortmund and I would be ready to play in the classic,” the Pole was quoted as saying by Sport Channel. During the quarantine period Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick organized the virtual trainings. “We had exercises for stability and strength. After a few days of so called cyber-trainings, the exercise bike worked like a canvas for a bull for me. I preferred to run after the ball on the pitch,” added the forward. (PTI)
