SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Indigenous People’s Front (MIPF) has alleged that the PHCs and CHCs in the state are not well equipped to admit a COVID-19 patient, while urging the state government to arrange personal protective equipment (PPE) for the health workers and the security forces, who are on the frontline in the battle against the ongoing pandemic.
In a statement issued here, the MIPF said that the state government should ensure the protection of the officers and provide PPE to those in duty, especially persons who are involved in procuring food items from Guwahati.
With a number of people coming from Assam, the MIPF said that the Home department should strictly monitor the border areas with the neighbouring state, especially in Ri Bhoi District.
