Labuschagne training with pet dog amidst lockdown
Sydney: The world might have come to a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak, but that has not stopped sportspersons from training indoors and in a latest video, Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne can be seen training with his pet dog.The batsman posted the video on Twitter and wrote: “Thought that we had to give this one a try… tough to tell who is enjoying the backyard training more #StayHome #StaySafe #milo.”He was earlier seen taking throwdowns with a taped tennis ball from his friend while his pet dog was acting as a wicketkeeper to make sure the run-machine loses none of his batting skills during the lockdown period. Xavi desires to coach Barcelona
Madrid: Former FC Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez admits that one day he would like to return to coach the Catalan giants.Xavi is currently in charge of Qatari club Al-Sadd and in January rejected the chance to replace the sacked Ernesto Valverde at the club. However, in an interview on YouTube, he admitted that his ambition is to coach in the Camp Nou, Xinhua news reports.”Now I have tried as a coach, I think I’m able to do it and it is a dream to be able to return to Barcelona.””I have said it many times, that I consider Barcelona to be my home and my life,” he said.”I am learning a lot here in Qatar and although saying I want to coach Barca is a big statement and you have to be properly prepared in order to do so, it is a process and I hope one day to get there,” commented Xavi, who added that for the moment he was content living in Qatar.Earlier, six FC Barcelona board members stepped down and told president Josep Maria Bartomeu they are not pleased at how the club is being managed. Raynier extends Mumbai City stay
Mumbai:Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City on Tuesday announced that midfielder Raynier Fernandes has extended his stay with the club until May 2023 with a three-year contract extension. Fernandes plied his trade with Air India and Mohun Bagan before making the switch to his hometown club in the summer of 2018. In his two seasons with the Islanders, Raynier made 34 appearances, notched up three goals and three assists. “I’ve been fortunate to learn so much and be surrounded with fantastic people here. I believe we have a lot more to achieve ,” Fernandes said. Bimal Parekh, co-owner of Mumbai City FC, said: ” We’re confident he can go on to become a very important player for Mumbai City.” (PTI)
