GUWAHATI: As part of its strategy to boost the combat against COVID-19 pandemic in Assam, biodiversity conservation and research organisation, Aaranyak on Tuesday distributed 350 cloth face masks among various beneficiaries in Bokakhat and Kohora on Tuesday.
The cotton masks were made by local communities from traditional Assamese gamocha. The weavers and the people involved in making of masks were provided financial support from Aaranyak.
The masks were handed over by Aaranyak officials Arif Hussain and Dr. Jayanta Roy to Santanu Gogoi, Assistant commissioner, Bokakhat Sub Division, Deben Bora, Officer-in-Charge, Kohora Police Outpost and Swapan Nath, President, Kaziranga Regional Journalists’ Association for distribution in their respective work places.
