Lightning kills two in WKH

NONGSTOIN: Two persons died on the spot and three others were severely injured when lightning struck them while they were working at a paddy field in Mawkadiang under West Khasi Hills on Tuesday.
Praising Lyngdoh Puwein, headman of Mawkadiang village, informed that the five farmers, working in a paddy field, had taken shelter under a pine tree following a heavy downpour, when lightning struck killing Phuldaris Marwein (40) and Horbius Jyrwa (20) on the spot. The injured were identified as Halman Marwein, Thalian Marwein and Ariantiful Kharsyiemlieh.
After legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the respective families.
