Vicar General’s demise condoled

GUWAHATI: The Catholic Church of North East India along with the Archdioceses of Guwahati condoled the demise of Rev Fr. Varghese Kizhakkevelil, the Vicar General of the Archdioceses of Guwahati, in Kerala on Tuesday.

“Rev Fr. Varghese Kizhakkevelil was an important part of the founding team of the Archdioceses of Guwahati who dedicated his life for its the growth and development. As the Vicar General, he was instrumental in establishing the Archdiocese of Guwahati and also playing a key role in nurturing other dioceses in the North East India,” a statement by CCNEI and Archdioceses of Guwahati, issued here on Wednesday, said.

“The Catholic Church of North East India along with the Archdioceses of Guwahati deeply mourns his passing away while praying for the repose of his soul,” the statement said.
