Aid for farmers, labourers in state

SHILLONG: Close to 90,000 farmers from the state have been provided financial assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
A report said that 89,330 farmers from the state have received the assistance till April 27. Across the country, about 8.89 crore farmer families have benefitted and an amount of Rs 17,793 crore has been released under the scheme during the lockdown period from March 24 to April 20.
As many as 2,33,193 labourers have registered for Special Assistance of Rs 2100 out of whom 1,84,184 were found eligible. In addition, 9,302 labourers have also been provided support of Rs 3000 each under BOCW Act, a statement said.
