Seng Khasi gives essential items to poor families

SHILLONG: The Lum Jingthang Komiti (LJK) of the Seng Khasi has extended assistance of essential items to poor families residing within the jurisdiction of Elaka Laitlyngkot and Raid Nongkynrih.
In a statement issued here, the distribution of the items was done after it was learnt that the families are struggling during the lockdown.
The LJK distributed 1900 kg of rice, 190 kg dal and 190kg of salt to190 families.
JSR Syiemlieh chaired the function, Renold Rani treasurer of the committee and others were also present.
The LJK also contributed Rs 50, 000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on April 13.
