Loreto Alumnae help needy

SHILLONG: The Loreto Alumnae Association Shillong distributed food packets to 60 families in Umphyrnai recently to help them cope with the difficult time, a statement issued here informed.
The group of past pupils of Loreto Convent, helped the underprivileged families of the village by giving them 8 kg of rice, 2 kg of dal, 3 kg of onion, 1litre of oil, 2 packets of biscuits, 5 bars of antiseptic soap and 5 washable face masks. ‘There are many families who are worried if the food will last them for another day. We have also been surveying villages where there is shortage of food supplies and have spoken to a few headmen of the villages. Finally we narrowed down our search with the 60 needy families in Umphyrnai’, the statement added.
