NONGSTOIN: The Village Dorbar of Umwali on Monday clarified the alleged statement of Sngewbhalin Paliar saying that it has no intention of detaching the latter from the village.
Paliar had said that she has been alienated from the village after she came from Nongnah under South West Khasi Hills District.
Refuting the statement, headman P Syiemiong said that as per the instruction from the district administration and the Health department, any person who comes from outside the district will have to be self-quarantined for 14 days, adding the village Durbar has already directed the villagers to follow it.
Syiemiong alleged that Sngewbhalin Paliar has failed to adhere to the instruction, adding that she would roam from one village to another.
Syiemiong said the dorbar, through the VDP, approached her asking her to follow the instruction, to which she said she does not carry coronavirus.
“We don’t know whether she is carrying the virus or not but as a precaution, we have to follow the instruction from the authorities,” Syiemiong said.
