Assam’s COVID-19 positive cases go up to 97

GUWAHATI : Six more persons have tested COVID positive in Assam since May 16 night taking the state’s tally of COVID-19 positive persons to 97.

Two of these persons are from Guwahati, while one each from  Sivasagar and Sonitpur district. They also include one 9-year-old boy from Ward No 3 of Jorhat town who came from Delhi and one 28-year-old person from Cachar who arrived from Chennai.

All these persons were admitted to designated hospitals for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

“In view of developing situation, I urge elderly (65+) & children below 10 to strictly stay inside, unless very important,” tweeted Assam Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
