Aarogya Setu usage compulsory in SAI’s SOP for training resumption
New Delhi:Compulsory usage of the Aarogya Setu app, nomination of a hygiene officer by National Sports Federations (NSF) to ensure compliance and implementation of all protective measures for athlete and staff safety, elimination of the usage of locker rooms and maintaining a distance of “1.5 to 2 metres” are among the measures suggested by the committee put together by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in their Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for resumption of training across the country.SAI had announced the formation of the six-member committee headed by Secretary Rohit Bharadwaj on May 10. It has since created the 33-page document that now needs to be cleared by Health Ministry and Home Ministry. The SOP also says that the usage of gym “shall be avoided/ limited to inescapable requirement; and as far as possible exercise shall be allowed using personal equipment, which shall not be shared by any other trainee.” (IANS)

Sachin gave me gloves: Agarkar
New Delhi: Apart from being one of the greatest fast bowlers to have come out of India, Ajit Agarkar was also known for being a very handy lower-order batsman. While Agarkar was the fastest to 50 ODI wickets, he also had three ODI fifties to his name. In Test cricket, his only century was an unbeaten 109 against England at Lord’s which helped him get an elusive spot at the historic stadium’s honours board for batsmen. However, those that saw him batting as a young player in Mumbai would have said that his is also a story of unfulfilled batting potential, considering that legendary coach Ramakant Achrekar — under whom the likes of Sachin Tendulkar blossomed — took Agarkar under his wings after seeing him scoring runs in school cricket. Kesrick Williams slams Pietersen
New Delhi: West Indies fast-bowler Kesrick Williams slammed former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen for the criticism the latter levelled at him during the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in December last year.”KP likes the spotlight. Nothing wrong with liking the spotlight but it is the way how you get the spotlight. At that point, nobody spoke to KP. He was not important. KP was off the map and KP just wanted a reason to be on the map,” Williams said in a video uploaded on International Cricket Network 360’s YouTube channel. The 2020 IPL auction came on the heels of India’s home T20I series against West Indies in which Williams made a big impression. The most famous passage of play from the series was the battle between him and India captain Virat Kohli in the 1st T20I, where the latter’s unbeaten 94 off 50 balls helped the hosts chase down a target of 208, with more than one over to spare.
