SHILLONG: Tshering Diki, the assistant general manager, SBI main branch in the city, recollected her meeting with Dr John Sailo Ryntathiang, the index patient in the state. Diki said Sailo was an old family friend who was treating her for years. “I met him on March 20. It was shocking and disheartening when I heard about his health condition and later death. It was such a loss,” she added.
Diki, who was a tertiary contact, and another employee of the branch were in quarantine because they had visited Bethany Hospital. “You understand the full implications when you are in quarantine. I was under home quarantine and had to undergo COVID test,” she recollected.
