CM, Press Club, MEPA condole senior journalist’s death

SHILLONG:Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Saturday conveyed their condolences to the family members of senior journalist Various Star Nongsiej, who passed away on Friday.
The chief minister said that he is saddened by the sudden demise of Nongsiej.
Mukul recollected the contribution of the journalist.
Meanwhile, The Shillong Press Club (SPC) and the Meghalaya Editors and Publishers Association (MEPA), also condoled the sudden demise of Nongsiej after a brief illness.
The SPC, in a statement issued here on Saturday, said that Nongsiej’s death is a great loss not only to the press fraternity but to the entire state. He was also an enthusiastic member of the press club, the statement added.
SPC and MEPA observed two-minute silence to condole the death of the journalist.
The organisations also extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
MEPA remembered Nongsiej as a hard working person and his contribution in the field of journalist.
Nongsiej was first associated with Mawphor in 1993, He also held the post of Editor in Peitngor and Kynjatshai.
His funeral will be held on Sunday at 2 pm.
